On Saturday,February 25, 2012 you can enjoy one of the area’s most unique events. When you arrive at the Classic City Foundry, you enter the French Quarter by way of Bourbon Street, with magnificent lamp posts lighting the way, huge masks on the brick walls, vendor carts displaying a stunning array of silent auction items, and an abundance of cajun cuisine. Enjoy the outdoor oyster roast as well as fresh beignets made onsite.
Visit the two different musical clubs for either Motown or New Orleans-style brass band music. If you dare, visit the VooDoo Lounge for all kinds of fun and entertainment. You will feel right in the middle of the sights and sounds of the French Quarter.
And as we come together to party for a cause, the American Cancer Society will continue to save lives and create more birthdays by helping people to stay well and get well, find cures, and fight back against a disease that has taken too many lives.
For nearly a century, the American Cancer Society has fought for every birthday threatened by every cancer in every community. By taking what we’ve learned through research and turning it into what we do, we have contributed to a 15 percent decrease in the overall cancer death rate between the early 1990s and 2005. That means that we helped avoid about 650,000 cancer deaths and created the potential for more birthday celebrations. Overall, 11 million cancer survivors in America will celebrate a birthday this year. Now that’s a reason to party, so join us!
Let's join together to save lives ... even if it takes all night!
We hope to see you there!
